Dear members,
We are sharing an opportunity for members to participate in a research study examining racism and other forms of discrimination within the Nova Scotia health care system.
The study explores how discrimination affects recruitment, retention, and advancement into leadership roles and seeks to identify potential strategies to address these challenges.
The research is being conducted by researchers at Cape Breton University (CBU) and the CBU School of Nursing. The study will be conducted in a trauma-informed, culturally humble, safe, and anonymous manner. No findings will be linked to individual participants or their employers.
Eligible participants may identify with the following groups:
- Racialized communities, including African Nova Scotian communities
- Acadian or Francophone communities
- Immigrant communities
- 2SLGBTQIA+ communities
- People living with disabilities
There are two ways to participate. You can take part in a one-hour virtual interview or participate in a virtual focus group.
Participants will receive a $50 e-gift card for Walmart, Amazon, Atlantic Superstore, or Sobeys in recognition of their time.
